How we handle your information — plainly explained

Last updated: June 2026. This policy covers Bright's Cafe, 2 Woodland Way, Bristol BS15 1QL. We are the data controller for any personal information collected through this website.

1. What information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. The main way we do this is through the private hire enquiry form, which may ask for:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • Your preferred date, guest count and type of occasion
  • Any details you share in the message field

We do not collect any payment information, and we do not run advertising on this website.

2. Why we collect it

We use the information you send us only to respond to your enquiry and, if your event goes ahead, to help arrange it. We will not add you to a mailing list, share your details with third parties for marketing, or contact you for any unrelated reason.

Our legal basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests — you've contacted us because you want a response, and responding to that enquiry is the purpose for which the data is held.

3. How long we keep your data

Enquiry details are kept for up to 12 months from the date of your message, or until your event has taken place and any follow-up is complete — whichever comes first. After that, they are deleted.

4. Third-party services we use

Formspree

Our enquiry form submits to Formspree (formspree.io), a form handling service that routes your message to us by email. Formspree processes your submission data on our behalf and is subject to their own privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Fonts

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to download the font files. Google may log the request (including your IP address) as part of their standard server operations. No cookies are set by Google Fonts. See Google's privacy policy.

Food Standards Agency

We display our food hygiene rating using an embedded badge from the Food Standards Agency (ratings.food.gov.uk), a UK government body. Their script runs to display our current hygiene score. This is a public-interest service and their data practices are governed by government transparency standards.

Restaurant Guru

We display a Restaurant Guru Recommended 2026 award badge. This loads a stylesheet from awards.infcdn.net. It may log the page request as part of standard server operation.

Regulars.me (Loyalty App)

Our loyalty QR code links to regulars.me. Following that link takes you to their platform — their privacy policy applies from that point. We do not share your personal data with them.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Here's what this site uses:
